Are newsletters DEAD?!☠ As a digital marketing pro on the innovative edge of tech and social media, I tend to think so, and here's why... Although newsletters are still a strong tool for internal communications, SPAM filters and new regulations are making newsletters more and more difficult to even enter the inbox of subscribers making the labor behind the strategy a painfully low ROI. Remember the last time you saw a sweet new pair of shoes or a jacket that you couldn't pass up? Was it in a newsletter, social media, or an ad? As social media and apps continue to improve while boosting accessibility and engagement, most organizations will transition to a community environment over a newsletter database - issuing newsletters on behalf of the platforms. Gated content continues to decline with a more open format for SEO, which is how most newsletters have been built in the past... So what's next? If you were my client, I would have you on a call to understand your target market, buyer personas, and where your audience "lives" so you can create the strongest campaign possible with the highest ROI.
