❌Manager ≠ Leader❌ A manager controls elements to achieve a specific goal. A leader influences, motivates, and enables others to contribute toward organizational success. What makes an excellent manager won’t help those who aspire to lead in making that transition; these will: 1️⃣ Relinquish your need for control There’s a reason they call it “micromanaging” and not “microleading.” Leaders are secure enough in themselves that they empower others. They hire the smartest and most talented people and then get out of their way. 2️⃣ Put people before processes (and yourself) Leaders understand that at its core, business is powered by people, so they shift their focus to put others first and help them feel seen and heard. They also invite and align them around a shared vision, inspiring and motivating them to be their best. 3️⃣ Model leadership behavior Leaders don’t become leaders from a title bestowed upon them; they model it through their behavior by intentionally embracing their #softskills and #emotionalintelligence .
