They say that hindsight is 20/20, but what if foresight could be 20/20, too? Foresight is planning for what we think will happen before it happens. It’s about setting goals and then taking small actions, regularly and deliberately over time, to achieve your larger objectives. To make your foresight 20/20: Stop making excuses and move past your fear. Fear can manifest itself in weird ways, appearing as procrastination, self-preservation, or perfectionism. But the real damage comes from the inaction that fear enables. Get clear on what you want. Clarity is essential: the more focused you can be about your goals, the better. Create an environment for success. It’s not just the what, but also the who, that you surround yourself with that can either propel you forward…or hold you back. Take action. Rather than get wrapped up in the enormity of your objective, focus on the task at hand and keep moving. Find an accountability partner. It’s easy to be enthusiastic at the beginning of a challenge, but it’s far harder to stay motivated as time goes by. Enlist someone to hold you accountable. Don’t forget to look back. Yes, foresight is about looking forward, but there’s great satisfaction that comes with the perspective of recalling how far you’ve come. #leadership #goals …see more
