First thoughts on LinkedIn Stories... It's been a month since it first came out of Australia. My first Story had less than 300 views. Now, I get an average of 80 views. Still, I got some good leads from it. So, #LinkedInStories can be an effective tool to leverage. Especially as a communication channel to connect with your audience and prospects. I shared an in-depth video about what it looks like and how you can use for business. Have a read about LinkedIn Stories. What type of content will you publish on Stories? When I launched my first startup, three years ago, people thought I was crazy. And because of the lack of support I built my own support network & community so others won't have to go through the struggles that I did. I have a soft spot for entrepreneurs & mad respect for those paving their own path. Super proud of everything SAM LISTER has accomplished thus far. If you don't know who he is, go check him out. I'll drop the link to our episode on the Strange on Purpose podcast in the comments! #justQ đđ˝đ¤ âŚsee more
What and how you share your wisdom matters. Ask yourself if youâre committing these common #thoughtleadership sins: 1. You only share the wins Nothing is a bigger turnoff than someone who is continuously boasting. People respond to those who are genuine and admit when theyâve made a mistake. 2. You push your product or service Donât make the mistake of using your platform for blatant self-promotion. Instead, provide value by serving, not selling. 3. You try to cover too much ground Stick to those few areas where you are expert. When you stay within your wheelhouse, your audience sees you as the go-to person. 4. You never get to the point Meandering signals that youâre unorganized and unsure. Keep to one brief, compelling message. 5. You share haphazardly or infrequently Regularly and consistently publish your wisdom, so your network looks forward toâand trustsâyour insights and observations. 6. You post & ghost Merely posting isnât enough; you want to start conversations and build relationships, so engage with those who engage with your posts. 7. Youâre not telling a consistent career story People want to learn more about thought leaders. Create a cohesive, up-to-date and engaging presence that aligns with your content and supports your positioning. #personalbranding âŚsee more
Everyone has a unique story, but not everyone leverages its power.đĽ Properly crafted, your career story helps to differentiate you from your competitors, highlight your value, and draw others to you. 𧲠This is particularly important if youâre an aspiring or senior leader, or youâve had a career transition such as a promotion, founding a company, or striking out on your own.đŞ Once you have your story, it changes everything, including how others perceive, pay, and promote you. â Is it time to tell (or maybe retell) your career story?đđźââď¸ #career #personalbranding #positioning âŚsee more
Are you feeling stuck, figuratively and literally? With the mandated shelter-in-place orders enacted for our collective safety, itâs hard not to be frustrated and antsy, especially if youâre someone who thrives on making progress. Though it might sound counterintuitive, sometimes, the best way to move forward is to go backward; hereâs how: First, take time to reflect Before the coronavirus crisis, you likely felt over-programmed and overworked with no time to think. Now is the perfect time to harness the power of the pause and take a break. To maximize this period, slow down and carve out time in your calendar for quiet reflection. Next, refocus your efforts After youâve reflected, record, and review your thoughts to see if any common themes emerge. Nowâs the time to refocus your efforts on looking for new opportunities that align your skillset or offering with current demand. Finally, re-engage by taking action Once youâve had time to reflect and refocus your efforts, create and execute a plan. Taking action is the antidote to fear, doubt, and anxietyâand stagnation. In these trying times, re-engaging by taking action helps move you closer to your goals, which spurs you on; action begets more action. #career #progress #coronavirus âŚsee more

After almost a year of stay-at-home orders, I find myself giving other people permission to take mental breaks, yet still telling myself that I should be doing more. While many of us (myself included) have found morning routines, at-home office setups, and more to cope with being home all the time, being at-home all day can still be incredibly draining. Until economies fully open up & it is safe to do so, itâs still okay to show yourself and others a bit of grace. âŚsee more
Medication adherence is a larger issue than you might first think. Only about 25-50% of patients take their medications correctly. Such poor treatment compliance leads to $100-300 billion in healthcare costs and leads to 125,000 annual deaths only in the U.S. - all preventable. This is where digital pills come into play. And, even though the short history of digital pills contains spectacular failures, it's never the technology or the concept that failed. I woke up in the morning with a sore throat. I immediately turned to my voice assistant to ask for help. She asked me to take a picture of my throat with a phone and she guided me to make sure I get a photo good enough for analysis. I snapped the picture, uploaded it to her cloud and she responded in a second: "You have a sore throat and let's make sure it will go away as smoothly as possible." She told me what to have for breakfast, what kind of tea to make and what over-the-counter drug to start with. She also told me she would monitor my vital signs through my skin patch and will let me know if I need antibiotics. I asked her how much time it would take to get better and whether I can work today. She responded with empathy and encouragement sharing the conclusions of analyzing millions of patient journeys with the same issue: "We will take care of it together, don't worry. You are in good hands." After a few days of guidance and suggestions, she made me get better sooner than expected. At not one point I felt alone with my problems.
