I'm constantly inspired by people and things around me! I listen to daily podcasts and read motivational books to stay on track with my personal and professional goals. I saw a quote like this somewhere and it hit home. Create something SO INCREDIBLE that they'll think aliens did it - pretty big right?! At first, it scared me. "That's way too big of a goal," I thought. But then I was reminded of Unstoppable Tracy Schmitt BRLS, B.Ed, MBA that I was introduced to at the Women of Inspiration event in Toronto and was SO inspired by her bubbly attitude of badassery and kindness. I remembered that NOTHING is too big. Anything is possible with the right attitude, and an amazing community of support! Build an incredible team that turns astonishing results. Create a life of happiness that attracts admirers. Design an attitude of gratitude that'll get you through ANYTHING while inspiring the rest of the world. #Inclusion #InclusionAndDiversity #Gratitude #Inspiration #Motivation #ChantelShares …see more

Exhausted beyond belief preparing for a sleep-deprived EEG in the morning which means I have eight hours added to my day in preparation for the brain monitoring exam... The world is asleep and I can hear the sound of my son tossing and turning quietly in his Jeep bed down the hall. My loyal German Shepherd adjusts himself at my feet. I have time. I open my laptop and type words into an empty document beginning the story... Before the onset of this stupid disease, When I could dance without falling, See with perfect vision and Hold my baby without an ounce of pain. *** Blood fuses out one arm cycled through a machine to ditch the infected cells and is pumped right back into my body for the third day this week. But I have time. More time than I know what to do with while I wait for the treatment to pass. I open my laptop again. The letters flow so eloquently, Like warm honey into my cup of jasmine tea. A book has begun. A story of adversity and strength when I need it most. *** So let me ask... What did you do with your time? *** Stay tuned for the final message of inspiration, empowerment, and hope ❤ C. I think this is great news for the profession of nursing. Obtaining Top Post is a validation of the role of nursing in Healthcare, public health and health policy. And why not? It's LONG overdue!
I’ve got a new digital organ, and I’d love to tell you all about it. Based on my follower’s community suggestions, I chose to switch to the Withings Scanwatch after my disastrous latest experience with Fitbit. I’ve used it for 4 weeks now, and all I can say is that it’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship. AND a blooming romance. My 2018 in a nutshell: - 25 minutes of daily intensive exercise (150 hours all together) - an average cognitive score of 7,8 and an emotional score of 8,1 - sleep quality average score is 4,6! - reading paperback books for over 20 minutes every day - lost 2 kg of weight - learned something new 30 minutes a day. Being a data-maniac, I created a health data system to document my vital signs and the progress towards the goals I set in areas of my life, which I want to improve. Here’s what I learned in 2018 and what you could get to know about yourself with the help of my Excel spreadsheet system about physical, mental and cognitive health. The cover of The Economist magazine this week. Am glad they are highlighting this issue. While there have been tragedies, Africa has done a lot better overall during the initial phases of the Covid-19 crisis than many expected. With the Pfizer vaccine news, it may be tempting for lawmakers on Capitol Hill to shelve major fiscal relief efforts. The fall in the US consumer confidence index, from July's 91.7 to August's 84.8, was sharper than the consensus forecast. As regards to the constituents of the index, the "expectation" component fell to its lowest level since 2016 as households worry more about the persistence of negative Covid effects, including unemployment and other income losses. #economy #markets #confidence …see more

Last week's US data, including Friday's jobs report, highlighted the economy's underlying resilience and dynamism--attributes that are crucially important in powering a full economic recovery. This Bloomberg chart illustrates the typical behavior of credit risk spreads under three different liquidity regimes -- namely: Ample liquidity: Converging around and ever lower spreads; Sudden liquidity shock: Both spreads widen dramatically and uniformly; and Liquidity normalization: differentiated moves give way to a convergence inclination. #markets #economy #investing #bonds #volatility #interestrates …see more

The Apple vs. Facebook saga continues: What happens when an unstoppable force hits an immovable object? One of them gets destroyed. In a recent speech at Brussels' International Data Privacy Day, Apple CEO Tim Cook went on the offensive against Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook. Cook's speech seems to be a direct response to Facebook's recent attack on Apple, in which the world's largest social network took out full-page ads in several newspapers attacking Apple's new privacy changes. But what's most fascinating is that Cook took direct aim at Facebook without ever mentioning the company by name. “We see things as we are, not how they are” I’d guess about 97% of the media I spend my time consuming is “fed” or “suggested” to me by algorithms/people I follow. Up from about 1% in 2005. It’s alarming when you think about it. What hope do we ever have of changing a slight opinion, let alone a worldview. When was the last time we bought a paper we didn’t like. Or went to a news sites home-page ? Even then the latter would likely be “personalized” based on what it thinks we want to see …see more
