A big question facing policymakers in Emerging Markets, as well as investors, is how far can countries go in using the advanced world's playbook to mitigate economic damage from Covid-19 (particularly middle income economies). Turkey, and how developments in its currency markets impact the economy and the financial system, are important to watch here. So fun to reconnect with Ivan Juarez from high school! Ivan reached out last weekend over LinkedIn and we were able to catch up today while I was back in town in Santa Ana. We had an interesting time walking down memory lane about our experiences in high school and also the challenges of being first generation students. Growing up in Santa Ana, neither of us knew what it meant to work in “tech” or where Silicon Valley was even located. I also had the opportunity to share with Ivan my experience post-high school, how I dealt with my imposter syndrome and turned it around to thrive at UC Berkeley, and finding my unique way into tech. We ended up going through a coaching session together and the steps needed to break into tech and marketing. In this case, product marketing, which Ivan was interested in pursuing. 🙌 Super grateful to have the opportunity to reconnect with an old friend and remembering my roots of where it all started! Ivan will be graduating from Cal State Fullerton later this fall and is interested in product marketing and tech. If you have any leads or would like to chat with Ivan, let me know! Go Ivan! 😇 …see more
Not into sports analogies that much, but there are 2 Sports that I like to use a reference points for business. This will likely be my worst performing post on Linkedin ever, but I don’t care. Crap volleyball-While pro’s tend to use a dig first to control the ball, get it high up to buy time, second, the setter places the ball perfectly for the third person to smash it precisely where they want it. In crap beach volleyball, everyone looks terrified, they just whacks it over as soon as they get a chance. The ball is a liability, the solution isn’t to think, to strategize, to understand, it’s to hurriedly pass on. Kabaddi - Here players HOLD’s THEIR BREATH, raid the opponents half, tag as many players as possible, and return to their own half without being captured. When you watch it, players take their time, despite oxygen running low. It's mainly slow movements & then when the moment is right pounce like lightening. It’s a joy to watch. Businesses think “the pace of change is so fast, you have to act quickly, constantly, to be exerting energy at all times. But the reality is it’s more about knowing when to be fast, when to be slow and when to commit. …see more

It used to be easy to achieve #organicgrowth - as long as you were putting out high-quality content week after week, you could expect your numbers to rise. With competition on #socialmedia platforms rising, however, that's no longer true. Today's brands need to get innovative with their #digitalmarketingstrategy to stand out. And one company shared what’s been working for them. …see more
