Back to the fascinating Hertz price action. Per the 2-day chart, the stock has been losing steam this morning after opening significantly higher on news that equity issuance is being considered (see earlier tweet)--this as hopes of a non-debt cash injection offset dilution risks. #markets #stocks #investing #bonds #stockmarket Hertz …see more

With the win-win mindset still driving risk markets--and it has served investors very well so far--asset prices continue to move higher. Despite a mixed session abroad (Asia stronger, Europe weaker), US futures point to a higher open, adding to last week's impressive gains. #markets #equities #investing #stockmarket #economy #stocks …see more

Yay! A better data point: The preliminary Michigan consumer sentiment measure for May came in at 73.3 ... well above the consensus expectation of 68. That, and what many regard as FOMO flows, have helped stocks bounce off the session lows: The indices are now down 0.4-0.6%. #economy #markets #stocks #investing #bonds #equities #stockmarket #investmentmanagement #fed #interestrates #interestrates #volatility #fixedincome #assetallocation #centralbanks #federalreserve #volatility #fixedincome #assetallocation #centralbanks #federalreserve #earnings …see more

Quick Early US Morning Market Update Good morning. Hope you all had a good weekend. A "risk-off" tone characterizes start of the trading week in Asia/Europe: -Major Asian equity markets fell 2-4%, similar to many European stocks currently; US futures are over 1% down. -The yield on 10-year US government bonds is 2 bps lower. -WTI oil is off 8% and Brent 3%. #markets #stocks #equities #stockmarket #currency #trading #equities #fixedincome #yields #bonds #assetallocation #investing #investmentmanagement #economy #interestrates #bondmarket #federalreserve #yield #equitymarkets #earnings …see more

The strong open for US stocks (see below) is reinforcing the gains in Europe. Within the broad move up, there continues to be notable differentiation, with cash generation and access to new financing having an impact.Interestingly. Interestingly, in a counter move to stocks, the yield on 10-year government bonds is down 3 basis points (to 0.63%). The oil complex remains misaligned for now as the ETF contract roll effect plays out. #stocks #markets #bonds #equities #investing #interestrates #economy #investmentmanagement #volatility …see more

I’m publishing this series on LinkedIn called #Colors to explore a topic that I care deeply about: the Renaissance Mind. I am just as passionate about entrepreneurship, technology, and business, as I am about art and culture. In this series, I will typically publish a piece of art – one of my paintings – and I request you to spend a minute or two deeply meditating on it. I urge you to watch your feelings, thoughts, reactions to the piece, and write what comes to you, what thoughts it triggers, in the dialog area. Let us see what stimulation this interaction yields.
