There's quite a bit of press around this ad. One, I'm proud of my company for producing it, it's incredibly well done. Two, however, I *really* look forward to the day when, as groundbreaking as it seems to be, we no longer have to discuss the fact that it's groundbreaking. That day, we will truly have changed as a society and humanity. I do understand that ground, ceilings and old, outdated idioms have to be broken somewhere, however, and I'm glad we're breaking them. #weAreAllOnePeople #noBarriers #stillDayOne …see more

Much of our struggle with distraction is a struggle with external triggers. Checking those notifications comes at a high price. External triggers can rip us away from the task we planned to do in that moment. Researchers have found that when people are interrupted during a task, they tend to subsequently make up for lost time by working faster, but the cost is higher levels of stress and frustration. The more we respond to external triggers, the more we train our brain in a neverending stimulus–response loop. We condition ourselves to respond instantly. Soon, it feels impossible to do what we’ve planned because we’re constantly reacting to external triggers instead of attending to what’s in front of us. #Indistractable #Traction #ExternalTriggers #Productivity …see more
“When you invent the ship, you also invent the shipwreck" - Paul Virilio Throughout history, innovation came with unintended consequences. When it comes to behavioral design, we can avoid unintended harm by using a new maxim: The Regret Test The Regret Test means asking ourselves, “If people knew everything the product designer knows, would they still do the intended behavior? Are they likely to regret doing this?” If a behavioral design fails the regret test, it should not be built. Getting people to do something you know they’ll later regret isn’t persuasion — it’s coercion. The Regret Test helps designers put the brakes on unethical design practices before they go live. Businesses must listen for consumers who regret using their products… It isn’t just good for business, it’s the right thing to do. …see more
"We don't need no education; We don't need no thought control; No dark sarcasm in the classroom; Teachers leave them kids alone" Pink Floyd’s iconic ‘Another Brick In The Wall, Part Two’ is probably one of the most misunderstood songs of our time. Many people thought it was an anthem for denying the importance of education. It wasn’t. It was a powerful critique of an educational system that has barely changed since the 1800s: a teacher standing in front of a board in a physical classroom teaching rote memorisation.
