Many of us indulge in retail therapy but sometimes it gets out of hand. Sometimes itās not as simple as just cutting up credit cards. Sometimes itās worth looking at whatās driving our need to spend. My two cents on this topic...very well written post by LinkedIn editor Nirajita Banerjee ā¦see more

[First Glimpse] Lenovo unveils the world's first foldable PC. At #TechWorld2019 , the CEO of Lenovo shares his thoughts about "smarter technology for all" He unveiled the new Motorola Razr and the foldable PC (as seen in this video). Samsung and Huawei are trying to a smartphone and make the screen go bigger. It is the opposite for Lenovo, as they want to take a full-sized PC and make it go smaller. Design wise, the 13.3 inch 4:3 2k OLED display folds like a hardcover book. The weight is like a large hardcover Harry Potter book. It's dramatically smaller than a regular laptop, when folded it's about the half size of 13" laptop. Still, the foldable PC is still in prototype phase, what we do know is: - it'll run Windows - offers Intel CPU - no information on RAM or battery life estimates (though Lenovo says their goal is to run for a full day of use) - no headphone jack - charges over USB-C š Stringās Verdict ⣠The innovation is in the fold. The foldable PC is still in prototype phase. While the rest of tech companies are focusing on foldable form factor on mobiles, Lenovo is pursuing folding technology for larger devices. Keep your eye out in 2020 for more news for the ThinkPad foldable PC. #stringtech on #techworld2019 #stringstory #stringtheory #tech #thinkpad ā¦see more

Stress Control: Your Body Has a Budget & Overdrafting Makes You Sick! Scientists have found that the brain uses incoming sensory information to estimate the bodyās state and anticipate what will happen next. If a demanding situation is predicted, the brain marshals the bodyās resources (changing blood pressure, secreting hormones, metabolizing glucose) to begin to meet those needs before they arise. It could explain why people who experience high levels of stress due to trauma, financial hardship, divorce, or racism, also have higher rates of diseases. āJust like companies that have a financial office to keep track of accounts and make sure that their overall budget is balanced, your brain manages the budget for all the accounts in your body, keeping track of water, salt, glucose, and other resources that keep a person alive and well... Like a financial budget, a body budget can run a deficit, and over the long term, a bankrupt body budget results in illness.ā Dysfunctions and degeneration in this network are not just linked to depression and Alzheimerās disease but to many other illnesses such as diabetes, as well as chronic stress, obesity, and addiction. ā¦see more
A first-generation immigrant, Chicago business owner with two incredible daughters and an ambitious wife by his side was taken from us by blood cancer. That man was family. We enjoyed cigars poolside in Mexico and many drinks as we celebrated his daughter's marriage to my big brother. We laughed endlessly, regardless of translation barriers. We understood CHEERS and TEQUILLA and that was enough! We danced like party animals over lobster dinners and love. A baby in Madison, Wisconsin was diagnosed, learning her first words and taking her first steps in our hospital, attached to machines as her mother resigned from work to care for her unexpected health challenges fulltime š Then we found out Grandma Soumis has blood cancer after 90 years in the Upper Peninsula of MI supporting her husband working in the mines while raising three boys and managing a family auto-repair business... The thing is, cancer doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care if you own a business. It doesn't care if you have a family. It doesn't care if you are 5 months, 50, or 90 years old. If you have something to give, please support me here: https://lnkd.in/gdjKxAB Only 4 weeks left in this campaign to cure cancer. #givingtuesday #healthcare #success #entrepreneurship #cancer #healthandwellness ā¦see more
