On January 26th, Daily Nation journalist ELIZABETH MERAB reported that a new initiative aimed at promoting the use of technology to reduce poverty was launched in #Kenya.   Entilted "Pathways for Prosperity: A New Commission on Technology and Inclusive Development", the initiative was launched recently by Melinda Gates , co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation , during a two-day visit to Kenya. The technologies to be employed include artificial intelligence (AI), automation, robotics, nanotechnology among others. They are intended to be utilized to spur inclusive growth and effective governance. Apparently, this sentiment doesn't apply to journalism.
