The future of keynotes is here at last. 🚀 I first held a presentation as a medical student 16 years ago. Since then, I’ve travelled the world stage and given more than 1,000 keynotes at places like the WHO, Ivy League universities as well as the top pharma companies. I loved giving keynotes on stage and meeting healthcare innovators worldwide. Then Covid hit, and the whole medical event industry disappeared overnight. Since then, the whole The Medical Futurist team’s been working hard to find out how to do the same in the virtual space. We have to be able to own this new format too as our audience deserves better than Zoom broadcasts. As we’re on a 2D screen, essentially, we’re competing for attention with Netflix and action movies. We, speakers, have to evolve and I’m more excited than ever to bring this experience to you and viewers worldwide. Joy for All sent us a robot dog to test it. They design these companion pets to bring comfort and fun to elderly people. These are interactive cats and pups that are aimed at providing an experience of companionship. You can imagine how skeptical we were... but it turned out these robots can really provide a level of companionship. We also tested it with the youngest member of the family and not only she felt the dog is now part of our family but she also felt she had to take care of it and play with it respectfully. Just like in the case of a real dog. When I first read about the Apollo landing as a kid, I literally cried of excitement that humanity is able to do that. After becoming a researcher, I've published a lot about how digital health technologies are needed to get people to Mars. Because I have hope for humanity and that we can (must) become a multi-planetary species.
