*Will Technology Change Sexuality?* Revolutionary technologies bring a healthier future. In my book, “My Health Upgraded”, I’m sharing the most exciting questions (and providing answers) about the future of medicine. In the upcoming month, I’ll share with you one question from my book each week and provide a short (but sweet) answer. Question 3: Will Technology change sexuality? In short: PROBABLY. Augmented reality, pleasure sensors and A.I. powered sex dolls are all underway On couples in long-distance relationships, military spouses doing their duties overseas, or simply those who feel isolated and alone, technological innovations that mimic sexual intercourse can have a great effect. If technological solutions help people solve their need to connect, demand will lead to a swarm of high–tech products. The challenge will not be to decide whether they’re good or bad, but to make sure that people will still understand, and what’s more important, require the human touch in their relationships. Based on a new report, "AI should be taught as its own specialist subject, but also be added into other subjects such as geography or history. Extra support should be provided to teachers, through curriculum resources and learning programs, to help them get to grips with AI concepts and ensure that the subtleties of the topic are covered at all key stages of education." It’s finally 2021 and the global keynote community is buzzing with energy to finally get on a plane and hold keynotes in person. However, nothing is going to change unless 60% of the world gets vaccinated. I’ve been working hard with The Medical Futurist team to provide an outstanding keynote experience even virtually. We finally moved into our new studio (yes, even the coffee machine is already in place). The studio also means a new way of video content production: We’ll present you a lot of ‘breaking news’ kind of shorter videos, where we try to stay ahead of the curve and bring the latest and most exciting digital health and A.I. news to you as they develop. We cannot compete with large news channels but we have time for one thing they don’t: providing context around those big news and announcements. Check out the 3 rooms of the studio of The Medical Futurist and stay tuned for cutting edge videos! #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #health #healthy #video #youtube #studio …see more

Forecasters use historical data to make informed estimates about the direction of future trends. Or in other words, we look at the present, and try to uncover the seemingly invisible path that we’re on, step by step. This has an exact methodology and practical benefits, which I show in this video. #Forecasting #DigitalHealth #GoodJudgement #HealthcareForecasting #HealthcareForecast …see more

This is how my activities looked like last year as tracked by my smartwatch. Apart from motivating me to move regularly and consciously, it has also helped me sleep better and wake up at the right time with the smart sleep alarm. Keeping track of these, I pay more attention to walk around every single hour because I want to have 7-9 active hours out of the 9 it tracks. On the other hand, I'm glad it doesn't emphasize the hours I've spent sitting in front of a computer or in traffic jams. How do you use such data for a more healthy lifestyle? #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #wearable #health #healthy #fromchancetochoice #smartwatch #fitbitionic #sleepsmarter #smartsleepalarm …see more

The team of FabRx just informed us that they published the results of a clinical trial they did with their 3D printed pills. The study reports the first time integration of an automated 3D printing system for the preparation of personalised dose of the therapy into a hospital setting. The results of the clinical study were published in the International Journal of Pharmaceutics earlier in August this year and can be found here; https://lnkd.in/gfJ5pBM The ability of the 3D printing system to create printlets with different colours and flavours had a further positive impact in enhancing pediatric patients’ acceptability of the treatment. 3D printed pills truly create the chance for personalized medicine at the patient's bedside! #health #medicalsciences #medicine #clinicaltrial #futureofhealthcare #physician #3dprinting …see more

The diabetes community might be the best example for a group of patients who do not wait for regulators to make a life-saving technology available, but they step up to make it themselves. The FDA noticed this trend (see #wearenotwaiting ) and issued a warning. What should patients who know the technology they need can be made even by them do when 1) regulators are slow at adopting new technologies, or 2) companies set the price really high? #technology #healthcare #health #digitalhealth #medicine #healthy #algorithms #wearable #diabetes …see more

This series called The Murderbot Diaries addresses many issues that we will have to deal with while using artificial intelligence. The second part, Artificial Control, describes the interactions between bots and A.I. based semi-biological machines so we could understand better the world we will soon live in. It makes you think with the mind of an artificial intelligence and you discover the differences and similarities yourself along the way. Oh, and it's also an engaging story told from the perspective of a non-human entity. For years, I have been working on my forecasting skills (because that's what futurists do instead of blind predictions) on the Good Judgment Project ( gjpopen.org ). Recently, I started doing forecast exercises as a warm-up in the workshops I do for C-level executives in pharma and healthcare companies. It turns out people love playing games and when the game is about the future, they become really excited as most people don't proactively think about the future on a daily basis. Improve your forecasting skills on GJP and beat my score. :) #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #fromchancetochoice #speaker #keynote #speakerlife #workshop #forecasting …see more

70, 22, 380, 6 – Can you guess what these figures stand for? No, unfortunately, we have no clue about how to win the lottery. These are our magic numbers when it comes to the Ask Me About Digital campaign. We have sent out 380 badges and/or pins to 22 countries worldwide in the course of the last 6 months. While my keynotes are based on studies and real-life stories, people ask me why I have three narratives. I believe in the notion that I have to be able to package abstract thoughts, futuristic visions and troubling ideas in a way that people can digest them. That's why I have three narratives to choose from for every keynote I give and why I will add one more in 2019. I hope you see any of these somewhere along my speaker tour. #digitalhealth #future #speaker #healthcare #keynote #technology …see more
I tested the Nima peanut sensor with food that contains and food that might contain peanut and in both cases, the sensor found it. I put a pea-sized sample into the capsule, insert the capsule and get the result in about 2 minutes. It could be a game-changer for those living with peanut allergy.
