Slideshare?!? Is it still a thing? I went to the site and saw some presentations that gained over 500,000 views. So, I guess it's still a thing, but it's not fully integrated to the LinkedIn's ecosystem, I haven't seen a slideshare deck on my timeline. There's a PDF carousel, but it's not the same. Love to know your thoughts. …see more

Let's not let history repeat itself. Looking back at the school-to-work transition for Millennials, many were given a promise. They were told that if they got a college education, they would exit into a sea of job opportunities. All they'd have to do is pick one and from there, enjoy rewarding work and a long, successful career. A decent salary would support a comfortable lifestyle and, in a reasonable amount of time, dissolve their student debt. We failed them. I am attending and speaking at the Trauma Sensitive School conference in Washington DC. Amazing attendees who work hard with children who are traumatized. And we need to do something now — these students are not rare; we need to change our school culture. @tss2019ATN. Punishment isn’t the answer. The kids can — if the soil is fertile and the teachers are compassionate. Learning is what this is all about... learning not just content but social and emotional skills. …see more

From Politico and it is what I called $ in the hole (aces too): Betsy DeVos, President-elect Donald Trump's pick for Education secretary, has been unabashed about using her wealth to help elect Republicans .... And now, after giving millions of dollars to politicians over the last two decades, she heads into her Senate confirmation hearing with an advantage: DeVos and her husband, Dick, have donated to the campaigns of 17 senators who will consider her nomination - four of whom sit on the Senate education committee that oversees the process, which is expected to get underway next month. …see more
