Frequently asked questions

What is a UTM builder?

A UTM builder adds standardized campaign parameters to a destination URL so analytics tools can attribute visits to a source, medium, campaign, term, or content variation.

How should I label a LinkedIn campaign?

A common convention is linkedin for the source, social or paid_social for the medium, and a stable campaign name shared by every link in the same initiative.

What happens to parameters already in my URL?

Unrelated query parameters and the fragment are preserved. Existing UTM parameters are removed and replaced once with the values in the form; blank optional fields remove stale values.

Is my campaign information uploaded?

No. URL creation happens locally in your browser with no API request. URLs can be logged and shared, so never put passwords, personal information, or other sensitive data in query parameters.
