A first for me today - Breaking from my work routine to read a book to kids over a webinar :-) As part of finding new ways to help our employees balance the priorities of work, family and managing their households, our TransUnion Africa business introduced an AFK hour (Away from Keyboard) some months ago. During this time no business meetings are scheduled and employees are encouraged to break away from their work routines and spend time with their families, have lunch, go for a walk, etc. With many kids still away from their physical classrooms, this past month we introduced Kids Connect as an extension to the AFK program. Today I had the chance to read a book to children in the 8 - 12 age group. Tough audience and my nerves were shot. In the last few days, I've asked many specialists to test the Philips Lumify portable ultrasound with me. Physicians who regularly do eye, abdomen and pediatric ultrasounds have checked it out and were all amazed by its features. I said yes (to sleep tracking). I've tested around 20 sleep sensors including masks, watches and devices going under the mattress. The Sleepon ring promises to track sleep, wake the user up if their blood oxygen level is low and has an integrated smart sleep alarm function too. It sounds like the sleep tracker jackpot so I had to test it. Here is what I learnt after the first night. I don't have sleep apnoe, my sleep score is high but my deep sleep was not long enough. My oxygen level was normal and only turned around 8 times. There are things to improve and I haven't tested the smart sleep alarm function, the Holy Grail of sleep tracking, but will do tonight. After launching streaming on PCs and then Macs, Netflix turned it's attention to devices that were already connected to the internet, used for video, and had massive installed customer bases.
