Born in 1996, I sit on the cusp of Millennials and Gen Z. I remember 9/11, but I can’t remember what it was like to have a cell phone without data. As a Gen Z-er, I focus on saving money as much as possible. But when I do spend, I spend it like a Millennial (i.e. on experiences). I am sitting at a WorldZ session led by Viacom, and I can’t help but think about how weird it is to hear people of another generation name and define my generation. As a marketer, I totally understand wanting to target audiences. But what I notice from these kinds of talks are the lack of Gen Z people in the room, contributing to the conversation about what they are like. Sweden has been said by many to have been ravished by Covid 19 & yes by not locking down it's country, nearly 5000 people have died with Covid this year. Yet if you track all fatalities per year for the last 6 years for the first 5 months of the year, you can see this number in context. This need not be a world changing event. These are not end times. If 2020 is a tragedy, then do we get to call 2019 ( a year with 3000 fewer deaths than normal) a blessed year? Why not? A bit more context would help in a world where articles insist on us losing perspective and hope in the world. …see more

Women are integral to businesses and economies, and their significance cannot be understated. That's why it's important to encourage more women participation in the workplace. What can you do as a founder: 1. Ensure your #HR meets your objectives of achieving gender diversity through recruitment, and women are well-represented. 2. Encourage young women in the organization to come forward and lead teams and projects. Inculcate peer learning. 3. Create mentoring programs with women leaders from all walks of life. 4. Small acts of kindness and concessions to personal situations can help make women more inclusive. 5. Encourage women to speak up in meetings and contribute to decision-making. Our business coach gave us a sheet with 80 boxes. She said, "color in the same amount of boxes as your age." She continued, “the blank boxes are how many years you have left if you live the average life span." That's real. And so frightening. I have so many things that I want to do yet. ✅ Start / invest in an esports team. ✅ Be a part of the marketing team for the colonization of Mars. ✅ Start a VC fund. ✅ And the list goes on and on.
