I spoke at my old college today. And I got on the topic of wishing that I starting sharing my story earlier. I held myself back for a long time because I thought I wasn't relatable. I used my age, my race, my lack of experience as a crutch. And I know a lot of people that are there as well. Eventually, I freed myself of that and just started documenting. And 500 or so videos later it started paying off. I asked Charlotte , our badass graphic design intern, her thoughts because she has expressed similar hesitations. And, this is totally applicable to everyone but I want to stress it for students or anyone just getting started in their career. 👇 1). You don't have to have everything figured out. 2). Don't force yourself to niche down just for the sake of niching down. Explore and figure out what you like. 3). You ARE relatable to someone out there even if there are times when it's hard to believe it. You have a story. You have value. Share it. #justQ 🖤 …see more

Add these this development to the list of what seemed highly unlikely just four month ago (and remains a puzzle for some focused mainly on fundamentals): With the most-recent rally in stocks, two more milestones are now clearly insights for the markets: A new record high for the S&P (now 1 percent away -- chart); and The Dow turning positive year-to-date. #economy #stocks #markets #investing #investors …see more
Procrastination is your body telling you you need to back off a bit and think more about what you are doing. Examine procrastination from every side. It’s trying to tell you something. LISTEN TO IT.
There are not infrequent moments when I need to find "Startups", and I have problems. When I need to research such places, I find all companies have websites which: 1) Obfuscate what you do. It's literally impossible to understand simply what your company does. Every Single Time. Clarity isn't vulnerability, it's confidence. 2) Seem to suggest your company does everything. I don't want a Takeway that does Pizza and Sushi. Define yourself by what you don't do. 3) Has absolutely crap ways to contact you. I'm not going to fill in a form, or email " Info@mycompany.com ", the lack of person makes me think you probably don't exist. 4) Most of what you want to tell me is not something I care about, it's what you care about. P.s- You've no idea how silly it is that all your staff are probably in San Francisco. Are you trying to face the coders or trying to make money from the largest companies on the planet. Just trying to help here. …see more

I’m sick and tired of listening to people BRAG about how LITTLE sleep they get each night. NO. It’s not cool operating at half efficiency or stressing your body out to the lengths of incurable disease and cancer… Everyone’s body is different – requiring different diets and hours of rest. Personally, with my neurological deterioration, if I don’t get eight hours of sleep, I get nauseous, dizzy, fatigued, clumsy, and more… It feels like a college hangover, without the fun night with friends. Tip 9 in my #10Tips10Days series to be a BETTER, HEALTHIER, more FULFILLED professional... is to rest up! I LOVE SLEEP! How many hours of rest does your body need to operate at full capacity? Are you making sleep a priority for your overall success? Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup! 1️⃣ Be Present – Find your anchor to remind you. 2️⃣ Reminisce – Don’t let happy memories go to waste! 3️⃣ Acknowledge – Acknowledge the invisible. 4️⃣ Neuroplasticity – Think positive thoughts for every negative one. 5️⃣ Compliment – Give kind notes often. 6️⃣ Pause – Practice deep breathing exercises. 7️⃣ Reflect – Remember how far you’ve come. 8️⃣ Smile – It does funny things to your brain! #Leadership #Fulfillment #HealthandWellness #SelfCare #ChantelShares #Disability #Happiness …see more

Mentors have played a pivotal role in my career. They’ve become advisors, champions, sponsors, but ultimately friends as well. I often get messages from students and young professionals on how to start finding mentors at a young age. The first step: get out of your comfort zone and simply ask. In today’s digital age, mentorship is no longer confined by geo limitations. Most of my relationships have been developed over social media like LinkedIn, leading to virtual Skype calls and in-person coffee chats. What are your hacks, tips, and advice on finding mentors? Share them below to be featured in the first episode of my upcoming Zero to Infinity Podcast! …see more

“Working with startups” & “corporate hackathons ” are the equivalent of doing a single sit-up and thinking you’re on track to be an athlete. Sure it’s not the worst first step, and you can take a photo of it for Facebook to show off, but honestly it’s going to do nothing unless you change your diet and mission in life and do so much more
