In my usual Sunday night chart tour, couldn't help being again struck by these four emerging market foreign exchange markets. Some will see these sharp depreciations -- in each of Brazil, Mexico, Turkey and South Africa -- as the currency carrying the adjustment burden. The BIG challenge is that, in this particular economic environment, the resulting dislocations may overwhelm the adjustment process. #markets #currency #investmentmanagement #volatility #em #emergingmarkets …see more
We forget how far behind time most laws are. The digital age creates so much ambiguity. How big does a drone get before it's illegal? Can you Vape inside? Where do you pay tax if working digitally? Can you Livestream a sporting event? Who owns photos of photos? Even simple things like "can written notice by given by email" or "what counts as a signature". It's interesting stuff.
Kudos to Nestlé for encouraging women to start food-related businesses by showcasing some amazing food entrepreneurs in Maggie Kitchen Journeys (airing on Zee), but also more importantly, providing courses to encourage many more to take that first step. Honoured to have been part of the courses - the 'finance basics' course is online now at maggi.in Look forward to working with any other brands which can help me take finance out of boring offices and into the home The shoot was fun too, especially wearing yellow …see more
It was my birthday yesterday and I received this present in the mail. In any normal year, this wouldn’t make sense. In 2020, with all these Zoom, Webex, Skype and MS Meetings calls, this makes perfect sense. Amidst all these calls, I would encourage you to optimize your number of virtual meetings. Fewer calls, shorter duration calls, only attendees that are needed and consideration for others WFH work/life priorities are some of the tips I would share. #YouAreOnMute #Zoom #WFH …see more

Ended my first week off with a relaxing stroll along the Berkeley Marina. Such an inspiring walk for ideation and mindfulness. What is your go-to for relaxation or destress?
It's a sad sign of the times that every aspect of Covid 19 is turned into a political battle between Red and Blue mindsets. To my mind, asking "is the cure worse than the disease" is not a remotely political question, it's a moral one. It's about humanity and saving lives. Trying to open an economy when the most vulnerable, poor, and young suffer the most, giving up human and constitutional rights in the face of a disease all seem like events which should not turn into bipartisan entrenchment, but people coming together to figure out what's best. Finding common ground, focusing on the future not the past, looking beyond blame to action, rising above emotion to logic, all seem vital right now. …see more

This is what a CEO looks like. Salespeople on an exhibit floor last week ignored Katie Robbert , CEO of Trust Insights , opting instead to talk with her cofounder Christopher Penn . They thought she was his assistant. When one finally asked what she did, she replied, “I’m his CEO.” #oops #femalefounder #entrepreneurship #CEO #womenintech #techwhilefemale #STEM …see more
