We've seen it time and time again, from Phelps Face when Michael Phelps stepped up to the starting block, to football teams across America. Research suggests that if it can prove positive for performance, it can also be applied outside of the traditional venue of sports. So the next time someone tells you to smile, point them to the study below. Your bubbly but focused brand sorceress, Chantel Soumis 🌟 #determination #success #mindset …see more
I started speaking a little under a year and a half ago. 🎤 😬 And it’s been a journey figuring out everything: my style, how many speaking engagements are too many, how much time do I need to prep, should I prep, and so on. There are no rules for this stuff. I finished TEDx two months ago and it was 7 months of prep. I just did Disrupt Madison and I prepped for maybe a total of 5 hours over time. And I knew what I wanted to say... and then for the first time I walked on stage and everything went blank. I forgot everything that I wanted to say. So I winged it. And it went fine. But I hate not being THE BEST. And I’m really working to find my balance. On camera I don’t really prep. On the stage (personally) I’m learning that the more prep the better. Preparation is the best weapon. Kind of like when I was a musician. You play a song so much that it’s burned into your memory. You can go off script and still come back to the song because it’s become muscle memory. People have taken flights/driven from other cities/countries to come see me speak. And I feel an obligation to be the best. To make it worth it every time. Otherwise, what’s the point of speaking at all? From here on everything that I do, will be the best of me. #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 …see more

Good morning. My/others' focus on unemployment, including tomorrow's jobless claims data release, and on other indicators of income loss, is driven in part by concerns about the lack of household financial resilience -- and the pain and anguish that comes with that. Thank you Lisa Abramowicz for circulating this information. A good proposition / model for any agency or consultancy would be the idea of guiding clients through what has changed in the world, but mainly what has not. What threats appear and what opportunities arise. Instead it’s just people waving around shouting “everything is different now”

I remember the first time I used a stethoscope as a medical student and learned how many things we can get to know about the patient just by listening to cardiac and lung sounds. Later, I tested the first digital stethoscopes and always thought that such a technology should be available for the masses, not only medical professionals. StethoMe® is that kind of a device. It can monitor a child's respiratory system and send the data to a medical professional who can help remotely. We will test it and keep you updated on how it goes. #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #stethoscope #health #healthy #fromchancetochoice …see more
