We only get one life to be #free, to make the decisions we want (not in a selfish way, but in a way that can allow us to create the life with the biggest impact). The path to #freedom, for me, was learning to “choose myself”: not allow anyone else to make the decisions that would define my #happiness and well-being. The #actions we make today, become our #biography tomorrow. …see more
This thing seems so unfair, so unevenly and strangely distributed. Totally different times for those with kids and those without or those in city centers vs those in rural areas. Those around the sick and those unaffected. Those with job security and those with none. Some are learning a new skill, some are hoping to cope. Probably 30% of Americans have lost all their income and healthcare, while 30% of people have probably never saved so money up. Strange new divisions …see more

Here's a rule I use for my writing: Follow your curiosity. When things are hard, I don’t really feel like writing about something and I’m getting agitated or bored, I start always looking for what’s unknown about the topic. I look for the spark of curiosity around what I want to know. That’s why I love contrarian thinking and why real wisdom is found in the paradoxes and contradictions. Here's an example. If you blog every week about a topic for a year – if you write 1,000 words about whatever is interesting to you, you'd be amazed by how your understanding of a topic can develop. Find something that's intriguing to you and if you can stay on that topic for just one year, 52 weeks of the year -- 1,000 words a week -- you'd have 52,000 words. That’s a book’s worth of words you just wrote! You’ll also have a better grasp on the topic than all the shallow thinkers out there. Very few people can keep up with the consistency required because they don’t follow their curiosity. They heap expectations on themselves. How do I become a best-seller? How do I get clients? How do I make a bunch of money? Don’t do that. Follow your curiosity. What's something you're curious about? And what's keeping you from diving deeper into that curiosity? #Indistractable #Curiosity #Author …see more

Here's to a life well lived and one of my biggest inspirations to push equality and accessibility forward. Fighting chronic illness in the form of cancer multiple times without missing a seat on the bench... Approaching conflict with grace and dignity... And never backing down. Americans, especially women, would not be where we are today without you. Thank you Cheers 🥂 #inclusion #equality #idessent …see more
You can be a content creator and be present at the same time. They aren't mutually exclusive. It's like saying that musicians can't present. Or artists can't present. Here's the thing though: you have to be honest with yourself. "Too many people spend money they don't have, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like." - Will Smith. The same thing can be applied with content. What's your relationship with technology. Because tech is just meant to be an extension of us. Social media is simply meant to be an extension of us. Why are you creating? Be honest with yourself. #justQ 🖖🏾🖤 #entrepreneurship #content …see more

After a speech I gave to medical students in Budapest, I got challenged by a student with a crucial issue about how digital health technologies will affect the job of medical professionals and how much specialties will differ in that. So we sat down at The Medical Futurist Institute to analyze how medical specialties could be affected by digital health technologies based on two scales: 1) Whether the specialty is interaction or data-based 2) Whether its nature is more about creativity or repetitive tasks. I know that many of these can be debated, but I'm happy to share why this or that specialty was placed where it was. What do you think? #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #AI #artificialintelligence #specialty #medical …see more
The yield on 10-year US government bonds has retraced some of its recent widening in response to quite a change in tone by several Federal Reserve officials in the last few days. What I find most interesting is how (even more) sensitive the Fed is to adverse market moves, including relatively small ones. #economy #markets #bonds #investing #investors #volatility #federalreserve #equities #stocks #economynews …see more
My comfort zone was killing me. Doesn’t matter what age you are: 20 or 50 or 80: you improve and enjoy life when you dive into the deep end of the pool, swim for your life, and survive. YOU LIVE! How do YOU push yourself out of your personal comfort zone?! …see more

DON’T DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF The number one obstacle to delegating is the insistence, either consciously or subconsciously, on doing everything yourself. You should not do it all. This is not the highest and best use of your time. Nor does it enable your team members to grow and develop their skills. …see more
If companies really wanted to improve then every customer satisfaction "email" would just make it clear. 1) You can reply to this email 2) A human will read it 3) We care about what you say, value it, and will think about it. 4) We may even act on it, and keep you updated of what happens. Such a system would cost nothing in technology, lead to drastic improvements in service and satisfaction, but would take some human time. Instead we have companies like Qualtrics about to float for $14bn. Based entirely on an utterly flawed way to MEASURE satisfaction expensively. And offers zero clues on how to improve it. It's value is a sign of quite how badly Marketing has lost it's way. We've totally lost any common sense or direction in a world where we think Data is everything, when it's simply a mechanism for passing blame, reducing career risk and assigning bonuses. reassure people that they would be listened to and could help …see more
