There will be times when we feel insignificant. When we are told we are insignificant. But it's still important that we take action, because we are always causing ripples in the universe whether we realize it or not. #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 #entrepreneurship #business

While the digital health market is expanding rapidly, ninety percent of start-ups will probably die within two to five years from their inception. That’s an awfully high number, so we looked around what could possibly go wrong with digital health start-ups to avoid the undeserving fate of falling into the abyss. …see more

In a festival of flashy hardware, I find this tiny bit of code to be one of the most exciting things I've heard on day one at CES. Love it when tech starts to help everyone.

The onslaught of tech people who continue to talk amount Amazon and Alexa and the death of brands, continues to remind me that they don't understand the irrationality of human behavior and the need to make decisions in arbitrary imperfect but emotionally sensible ways.

Some COVID-19 updates this morning. Challenging times yield creative solutions. We hear a lot of 3D printing projects growing out of local Maker communities worldwide to tackle the supply chain issues of the pandemic. A Canadian doctor who works in Gaza just made 3D printed face shields. On Facebook, there are many new groups dedicated to connecting designers and engineers who can help those in need. In the UK, Babylon Health introduced a digital care assistant, essentially a chatbot, to advise people how to diagnose and manage suspected COVID-19 infections. It provides guidance via six steps, starting with general information on the outbreak and advice on self-isolation. As I receive a lot of questions from you whether any digital health tech could detect the infection in time, it's not surprising to see that a new study will evaluate the smart ring, Oura , that takes people’s temperatures in an attempt to identify people who have virus early. More than 2,000 emergency medical workers in California will participate in it. I'll share the results as soon as they are out. Any other tech-related COVID-19 news you have come across today? #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #fromchancetochoice #COVID19 #coronavirus #3dprinting #chatbot …see more

A new digital pill gets FDA clearance! etectRx Announces U.S. FDA Clearance of Novel Ingestible Event Marker https://lnkd.in/g6nm2tr I asked the company what their technology could do: The ID-Cap System may allow healthcare providers to follow medication adherence to life-saving medication used to treat conditions such as atrial fibrillation or heart failure with the intent to prevent strokes and myocardial infarctions. The use of this ID-Cap System may also help track and improve adherence to medications for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, such as HIV, hepatitis C, and tuberculosis, enabling achievement of better therapeutic outcomes and public health goals. This technology also provides the potential to identify medication-adherent patients in clinical trials who can more accurately reflect the efficacy and safety of the medications being evaluated. The goal is to assist in the approval of more medications that may have failed prior clinical trials due to poor medication adherence or suboptimal dosing. #adherence #pharma #drug #medication #medicine …see more

Amazon Go. Finally someone gets technology in retail is about removing barriers and being in the background, not adding gimmicky iPads & interrupting people and asking customers to do more. P.s It's not a remotely new concept, it's been around for years.

New Year’s Eve 1994 I was completely lost. I was about to be fired. My girlfriend had broken up with me. I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning without pretending to be a human. I was 26 and I felt like I was faking being a real person who could smile and talk and connect. My job (HBO) was close to firing me because I hadn’t done anything there yet, and I owed some $70,000 for my education. I thought every day I would die and I was kind of ok with it. . . . #lifestyle #2020 #resolution #writing #newyear …see more

When steam power was first used in factories, huge beam engines were installed and for about 20 years they used them to pump water up to reservoirs to drive waterwheels. We have departments running on fax machines, we use paper passports and ink stamps when we travel, we use more paper than ever before in the office . In 1970's the IEC introduced a standard electrical plug, it's used only by Brazil and South Africa, we've instead 14 type of power socket in the world and now USB A, B, and C. $3,000 bn of transactions are handled on COBOL, a code written in 1959 So forgive me if I don't think AI or Blockchain will rewire the world fast. And trust me that means we should focus on the simple steps we can undertake now to improve products and customer service today. …see more

Can someone just make a dating app where after matching you're expected to quickly FaceTime each other. Modern dating is designed wrong. Superficial selection process before endless banal texts.

The success of your career is directly correlated with your ability to take smart risks. When you first start out, your ticket to success is hard work. You have to put in the hours to learn the craft and get excellent at it. As with everything, eventually just working hard will result in diminishing returns. That's when you have to add in the ability to take risks. What risks have you taken in your career? Have they paid off? #careerstrategy #culture #careeradvice …see more
