In Sweden there is an app where you can find out where anyone lives and what their direct phone number is. To be removed off the database takes special permission and explanation. A few more clicks and anyone in the country can find out ANY other person's salary ( they do get told who has asked) It's interesting to compare this openness and transparency with say the German's, who seem to have the greatest fear of losing privacy. But most of all, being here for a few days, while Gun's rightly become the conversation in the USA, it's amazing to see one nation so open, trusting, tolerant, progressive, while another one fights for the right to be able to shoot hundreds of people dead in mins. Hope is here, just not evenly distributed. …see more

I have nostalgic memories of the Indian Railways from my childhood. At the end of the school year, we would go to our grandfather's village to spend the summer vacations and have carefree time on the farm. The simulation of this state-of-the-art sea bridge looks fabulous! Being built in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, its #construction would enable the trains to operate at higher speeds. If completed successfully, it will be an #engineering marvel. Kudos to Indian Railways! #India #WeekendMusings Piyush Goyal Video Credits: Ministry of Railways- India - https://lnkd.in/eK_b2Ss …see more
Rising early feels daunting to most people. In my 20's, not getting 8hrs of sleep used to be a crisis, but now I average 5-6 hrs. Rising early at 5:30am does help me focus better without distractions & gain control of the day. I can prioritize multiple tasks: some quiet time for meditation, yoga/exercise, setting up the day's agenda & addressing critical emails. Is rising early a secret to success? I am not sure. But what I do believe is that the course of our lives is determined by how efficiently we utilize our time. …see more
While it’s tricky business to try and predict how innovations will shape our long-term future, understanding trends and imagining new ways our future might be shaped, can give companies an edge in preparing for the emerging opportunities. #IndiaTrends2018 is an endeavour to explore the trends that are emerging from India’s rapidly evolving digital economy and summarize current opportunities for entrepreneurs & corporations across sectors. The growing digital economy stands out in scale of the opportunity before us: the 2 billion Indian devices expected to be connected to the internet by 2021, represents a potentially trillion dollar opportunity. At the same time, employability of our citizens and women’s participation are concerns – a mere 26% of Indian women are employed in the workforce (among the lowest in the world). I look forward to the next few years with both excitement & hope. My heartfelt gratitude to everyone that lent their support in this comprehensive effort: 50 industry leaders that we spoke with, the 1200 respondents of the survey, and the teams at Kalaari Capital , YourStory Media , KPMG India & NASSCOM India . I hope you find the report useful: http://bit.ly/2rRm2dd …see more
Motivation is the first step to success. What motivates someone else might not motivate you, but there are a few basics that EVERYONE should follow to stay on the path to success.
"What are the best practices to arrive at a good #valuation?" is a question that I hear a lot. Having a sense of a realistic valuation for your startups is critical while #fundraising. While founders need to look at the big picture and have bold vision statements while starting up, it is also critical for these visions to be grounded in reality. …see more

IT HAS been a fabulous journey. After little more than four years with BANDHAN BANK, I have decided to move on. I had the honour and privilege to see the birth of a unique bank from a ringside seat. It's the first instance of an MFI transforming into a universal bank in India and also the first bank to be set up in eastern part of India, after Independence. CS Ghosh, the man who has created it, is an extraordinary visionary who combines compassion for poor and a rare business acumen. These 51 months have been a great learning for me. Thank you BANDHAN FAMILY for this rare opportunity. …see more
The idea of this #innovation wheel is quite epic. It’s worth applying to your #business to identify your moats. We often pigeonhole the concept of innovation. Every well-known company leveraged simple innovation to build its moat, drive #growth , and transform businesses globally. Image credits: Visual Capitalist …see more
It would be fun to rethink what a Facebook style app should be if it was launched today. I'd love a social network which is far more intimate. For perhaps 40 connections at most. For sharing things that matter, not broadcasting. For arranging real life gatherings more than substitutes for them. For discussing ideas not events. For listening and understanding more than displaying.
With retail basically shut down in the US market QVC has changed the game for small business investors wine producers like me. Instead of having to sell through an ancient and inefficient 3 tier distribution system I can reach millions of consumers live on air at any time of day or night in 41 states! Early this morning at 12:45am I began my most ambitious offer ever, 6 different wines varietals in one 12 bottle case shipping included for $129. This offer runs until midnight tonight and I will appear live again at 5:52 pm EST tonight. This is what pivoting is all about. If you are an entrepreneur you must immediately develop new channels of distribution because retail may remain impaired for a long time! https://lnkd.in/eVSAdyK …see more

#Failure is not good. Failure is the worst thing possible. You feel sick. You feel like you’re going to die. You feel like if you don’t die you might kill yourself. There is absolutely nothing good about failure. And there’s nothing you can pretend to learn from failure. Lately, we’ve been living in the Golden Age of Failure Porn. Everyone wants to share their story. Everyone wants to “fail forward”. You can’t learn anything from failure because don’t forget that every single moment in your past has added up to that one moment in your present – where you are lying on the floor moaning your painful and abysmal failure. Stop whining. And stop using the word “failure”. Blah! Here are better things to learn from. Failure has many cousins. Learn from one of the cousins: Curiosity: When something happens and you don’t understand why, then ask, “Why?” Keep asking questions. Clearly, something confusing happened. Ask and ask and ask. Guess what will happen: you will get answers... http://bit.ly/2rIVf4t …see more

The joy of #entrepreneurship is to work on something unproven, probably even considered impossible; a person and his/her dream, the force of conviction, beating the odds, and when you make it happen, you prove the impossible is possible. The craving for that satisfaction and pride is why most start the journey of entrepreneurship. May the tribe grow!
