If you’re getting into public speaking👇🏽🎤 1). Don’t shy away from the smaller events. They often lead to large scale events. My first one was in front of about 50 people. That’s lead to VidCon, TEDx, and INBOUND. 2). It will vary based off your goals, but don’t just speak to the same people. Barely anyone in this audience knew me. Which was an awesome opportunity to get my name out there. 3). Don’t ever let anyone convince you that you need to be a certain way. We can all definitely improve (I know I can), but find & develop your own style. 4). Remember that you’re speaking to people. It’s not about the numbers. 5). You’re not going to be perfect. You’ll mess up (a lot). Learn from those mistakes. 6). Don’t take all the advice you hear from people like me. Test everything and find what works for you. What lessons would you add? #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 #entrepreneurship #business …see more

I left my first job last week. It’s made me realize how much of our identities we tie up in what we do. Lots of people have told me in this time period “you aren’t your job.” But I partially disagree. I am the intersection of my identities. I am a sister and a daughter and friend, BUT I am also the work I do and the impact I make on others. I am enjoying my break and travels around the country, but so excited to jump into my next position in a couple of weeks. …see more

A couple weeks ago, I had to check my ego. I was telling myself that I was working harder than any of my peers and somehow deserved to be treated differently. I didn't deserve anything. I wasn't the most successful. I hadn't achieved my goals yet. I lost perspective. I think it's important to check our own ego. We sometimes look at goals like... "Well if I keep doing what I'm doing now, I'll get there" If you keep doing only what you are doing now, you'll stay where you are now.  #10tips10days …see more

Unpopular view. Planning is overrated, being able to respond to any and all changes last minute is underrated. We can try to plan for all eventualities, but what if it's better to develop skills to get very good at dealing with the unexpected fast and brilliantly It’s not sloppiness …see more

To succeed in life, the employee must exploit the employer as well, and I mean this in a positive way. At any given point, because of the liquidity of a global economy, because of the Internet, because of the vast array of opportunities in front of us, an employee must determine his or her worth on the market. Here’s my immediate five-step plan for employee to employer exploitation: http://bit.ly/2rXbpam …see more

I must have read almost all of #IsaacAsimov 's #books . I am a huge fan. I find it amazing that the real world is catching up to his imagination, #science catching up with science fiction.

Very sweet and touching. I remember in the 80s Gates and microsoft. With time he has really become someone who deserves all round #respect . Not because he is a billionaire but for the human being he has become.

I'm sorry I write so much about my failures. So, for once I will tell you: when I stopped caring, I had more success than ever. Every time I cared about something, something would happen that would prevent me from getting what I cared about. I kept trying to force the universe to bend 13 billion years of effort into my meager effort. For a long time I cared too much. What he thought. What she thought. Why didn't they like me? Who would I have to beg next in order to "advance". Both you and me, we'll be dead before the universe blinks. So I totally gave up. I surrendered. Every day, I wake up and surrender first thing.  http://9nl.es/a23q …see more

So stoked to hit the 200,000 milestone with every single of you out there. Can't wait to start another chapter of meaningful dialogues and learnings. Thanks everyone! 🥂 Based on the convos that regularly happen on my updates, I know how much y'all value your personal brand and online presence. I'd like to take this opportunity of celebration to give back to the community. Between now and next week, I'll review and give feedback to LinkedIn profiles of the first 200 people who comment expressing interest (simply reply you're interested and one thing you want me to look at, the more specific the better: "I'm interested and looking for help in X"). Edit: for me to message you the feedback, please request to add me. …see more

Someone should write a book about etiquette in the modern/digital age. We forget how new all this is to us, and how to behave. Everything from modern dating to how to bring up kids today to tech at work. There is a lot we all need help with.

#India SaaS market has been booming for quite a few years now, and thanks to the first generation founders such as Zoho's Sridhar Vembu , Freshwork's Girish Mathrubootham , and others for making this happen. With remote working becoming a trend, a recent study mentioned India SaaS to capture 7-9% global market share by 2022. What gives Indian companies an advantage over other global competitors? This article is a good read. Building successful global companies from India is exciting and meaningful. It’s bananas there isn’t a way to click on a retargeted ad to say “no, you’re wasting your time here” . It serves nobody to have stupidly targeted ads with false precision. The feedback alone is worth a lot. But alas not, I’ll be served precisely and perfectly irrelevant ads until their cash runs out.

“To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time” Did you recognize that as the Starbucks tagline? Almost all of us have had a meeting in Starbucks over a cup of #coffee . By the way, did you know that their most popular drink is Vanilla Latte followed by Iced White Chocolate Mocha? Neither are my favourite drinks, I prefer the Chai Latte with soy milk! In this #KalaariPodcast , I want to share the takeaways that #startups can learn from the turnaround story of Starbucks, 2008. #Management #Entrepreneurship …see more
