Naps do you good! Napping increases alertness and decreases fatigue. A short nap (20 minutes or less) boosts your ability to concentrate by giving your body a chance to restore depleted energy. AND, regular napping can improve memory. The brain uses naps to consolidate things you just learned. http://bit.ly/2BUNM6H …see more
I've done several interviews in the past and this is hands down one of the most reflective of them all. Thanks to HuffPost and Kiron Chandy for giving me the platform to share and reflect on my immigrant story and personal journey in celebration of #ImmigrantHeritageMonth. I couldn't have done this without my LinkedIn community. And especially to all the teachers, friends, and mentors who supported me along this journey: Jenny Rooney Steve Olenski Kathryn Bader Debra Goldentyer Marney Randle Kevin Young Marisa Brown Joe Hines Daniel Roth Maya Pope-Chappell Itamar Orgad . Thank you for your support and thank you for giving immigrants like me a chance. Read about my story: https://goo.gl/lTNZZD …see more

This crazy footage is making its way around the net and being used by multiple groups to push multiple agendas. Clearly some of this video is local news content and if what happens to Captain America at 25:18 is real, well hopefully you will remember it next time you are having a bad day. However I'm calling 100% BS on every frame after 28:11. That's CGI made for a #hollywood movie if I ever saw it. The most insidious #fakenews is when its embedded into reality then and served up as the truth. …see more
Every day, you reinvent yourself. You're always in motion. But you decide every day: forward or backward.

A Vietnamese father was discriminated against during his job search. Why? Simply because his potential employer assumed he couldn't speak English well enough to do the job. This incident touched close to home. As a fellow immigrant, my family also moved to the U.S. in the 1990s. They didn't speak English then. Today, they still rely on my siblings and I to help them translate every now and then. Their early employers saw beyond their language barrier and gave them a chance in America so that they can support their family, my family. It's heart breaking to see discrimination like this still prevalent in America. As a second language learner, English, especially writing has always been one of my biggest insecurities. Not because I didn't write well, but simply because I wasn't a native speaker. I've been blessed to have mentors and managers who provided the support and affirmation to help me get over this imposter syndrome. For immigrants and second language speakers out there, be confident in your command of the English language. But more importantly, always help out your parents. Super proud of Emily Huynh for helping her dad out throughout this ordeal! …see more
Pretty much every big company wants to know how to act and be like small companies. And most small companies want to learn how to think like big companies. You could probably set up a consultancy on this one idea alone.
Any fans of #Dilbert ? These always make me smile by capturing the ludicrous situations in workplaces. Exit #interviews are really important to be used as tools for organisational development. And it can only happen if there is a commitment from the #leadership team to #listen and reflect. It can never be a platform to be used to diminish the voice of a departing employee. Human capital is one of the most important assets a company has. It has the power to make or break the progress of an organization. Here are 6 insightful questions you can ask during an exit interview: 1. Did you have the tools you needed to #succeed at your job? 2. What else could we have done more for you to perform to your full potential? 3. How would you describe our company #culture ? 4. What was the best and worst part of your job? 5. Do you have any suggestions on improving our business? 6. What would be your feedback to prospective employees? …see more
I've been doing this for a while now to increase engagement on LinkedIn 👇🏾 Leave another post in the comments section of your posts. 🚫 Not a comment tagging 39.3 people for being awesome. 🚫 Not a short question (although some people do this really well!) But I leave an entirely different post in the comments: ✅ It opens up space for conversation for those reading/watching. It also encourages engagement. If the comment does exceptionally well often times I will use it as a separate post. ✅ Your network will get notified that you commented on your own post. Driving more traffic 🚀 ✅ It should be a thought related to or adding to your post. Again, something that tells people another way to engage with your post/add to the conversation. What are some things that you're doing to increase engagement? #justQ 🖖🏾🖤 #business #entrepreneurship …see more

If someone can copy your product, you've forgotten to build a brand. New age / tech based companies have no idea how to build brands. This will slowly become a huge theme over the coming years.
I have always been fortunate to have had great CFOs as my partners in executing my vision. They have helped me learn and grow. I encourage founders to think early about the CFO role, not simply consider it as an accounting function but as a key ally. We are a bag of energy. If you try to control things, you waste energy. Only spend time, thoughts, emotions, on the things you have a choice over.

No thank you, new connection that I don't know... ➡ I don't want to comment on your new post. ➡ I don't want to purchase your services. ➡ I don't want to join your pyramid scheme. However... I would love to get to know you better, hear your story, and start there. ❤ I would love to recommend incredible professionals from my large community that can assist you. ❤ Are you getting messages from strangers with direct pitches to help THEM before they even learn about YOU? That's what's wrong in sales. Too aggressive and automated. It's lost the magic of human connection. The art of sales begins with storytelling - but first, active listening and competitive research. I can't wait to explore more about storytelling tomorrow in Chicago at Entrepreneur Business Live! My tips to new users: ✨ Send a connection request: include a custom message! ✨ Direct message: ask about THEM, don't direct pitch! ✨ Engage: continue the dialogue to connect further! #Business #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #Storytelling #Sales #LinkedInStrategy #ChantelShares #LinkedInTraining …see more
