While many of my friends and I preach uplifting other women in business, I still find that we all deal with comparison and judgement. For some reason when I compare another woman against myself, I start to find myself comparing our awards, our looks, and so many other useless factors. I know it's wrong. I actively try not to. But sometimes you need to have people in your life who can call you out when your mind starts to wonder. Those reminders keep me in check. How do you keep yourself from comparing yourself to others? Big shoutout to Natasha Takahashi (pictured here with me) who is seriously one of the smartest people I know! โฆsee more

SOME THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STUDENT LOAN DEBT - 44 MILLION Americans are in student loan debt. - There is $1.5 TRILLION in student debt., up from $200 billion in 2004. - Income for people ages 18-35 have gone DOWN since 1992. - At age 18, you can BORROW $200,000 but you can't drink a beer. - Student loan debt is the ONE debt that doesn't go away in a bankruptcy. The government WILL go after you. - Because of this, college tuitions have gone up TEN TIMES FASTER than inflation since 1977 (healthcare has gone up 3x faster). - 50% of students have student loans. Up from 15% in 1989. - The president of Quinnipiac College (where?) makes $3.5 million in salary (I just use this as an example to show where these rising tuitions are going). This has led to rising income inequality, less young entrepreneurs and innovation. Solutions: - relief of student loan debt so America remains in the lead of innovation. - Accreditation of online universities: increasing supply will reduce price. - system where investors can "buy" 10% of future income. Moving funding into the private sector. - spread awareness of companies that do not require a degree: Examples: Google, Hilton, Apple, IBM, Bank of America, Ernst & Young, etc. don't require a degree. #college #success โฆsee more
If anyone ever says โthink outside of the boxโ. Theyโve already failed to. Innovation has become so stagnant largely because we sanitize it and turn it into a tidy process not a chaotic messy outcome.
Digital or Automated "Agents" are just a way to tell your customers that you don't think their time is important enough to employ someone to serve them. Companies spend $2,000bn a year "talking to" potential customers. We proudly INVEST in marketing in the desperate hope people may want to fleetingly "engage" with a company. That precious special rare moment they finally do, it's now "customer service" and a COST to minimize, so we pass their energy and enthusiasm to a bot. Management consultants thinking has destroyed many companies ability to understand or feel the benefits of caring. The way companies cut their way to profitability, not invest in revenue growth is astounding. โฆsee more
I have a hunch the world is not changing faster than ever. What's happening is that tension is building instead. The internet, then the smart phone came into our lives and in many ways and in many places changed the rules of business. Each and ever year, companies resist changing, they do nothing or make superficial changes. People in senior roles hope to hang on. What really makes companies and industries hard to work with is the build up increases each year and is so far unreleased. Meanwhile the companies that emerged continue to become better. It's the tension of what you should have changed that didn't, it's the ever wider gap between what's possible, what's best in class, and what your company does, which is the issue. The greater the tension that builds, like an earthquake, the greater the force to unleash. We have a way to go before it hits many industries. โฆsee more
Far too much of modern life is more about merchandising or claiming success and far too little is about actually creating it.ย Way too much "look how busy I am" and not enough " Look what's been accomplished"
Please don't ever offer to pay a professional with "exposure". If you are good at what you do, don't accept it or you spoil it for everyone.
Why do people actually USE social media? I explain in less than 2 minutes below. The companies and leaders who understand this concept are winning in today's digital ecosystem. This is the most important point I make in my keynote... โฆsee more

๐ฅHappy New Year!๐ฅ Each year, I pick a word to guide me and #focus my efforts. ๐งญ For 2021, Iโve selected ILLUMINATE.โจ I love that this word is multi-layered in its meaning: to shine a light on something, clarify or make something understandable, make spectacular, and glow or light up.๐ Itโs about taking helpful, positive action by seeking knowledge and sharing wisdom, highlighting the brilliance all around us. It also refers to someone thought to have an unusual degree of enlightenment. ๐ก This year, itโs time for me to unapologetically light a new path and shine even brighter, particularly fitting as we come out of what has arguably been a year of darkness for so many. ๐ฆ And as I become illuminated, I aspire to #illuminate others. ๐ฏ Whatโs your #wordfor2021 ? ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ #clarity โฆsee more

A urine test backed by A.I. could diagnose prostate cancer. The Korea Institute of Science and Technology announced that they developed a technique for diagnosing prostate cancer from urine within only 20 minutes with almost 100% accuracy. The research team developed this technique by introducing an A.I. analysis method to an ultrasensitive biosensor, making it another great example on how A.I. can help shift the point of care to wherever patients are. #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #AI #artificialintelligence #deeplearning #machinelearning โฆsee more

This life #hack is so easy itโs trivial. I am almost embarrassed to share it because itโs so obvious. And yet so few people do it and this one technique has made me millions of dollars. That almost sounds scammy: โItโs made me millions of dollarsโ. What can I say about that? I was dead broke 18 months later. A life hack is not a way to figure out life. Iโll get to that in a moment. One time I started a company. I had millions of users and I was profitable. But I wanted to sell the company. I had a meeting with a guy who was a new CFO of a company I was partnered with.
