I write ten ideas a day to exercise my “idea muscle”. The idea of the “10 ideas” exercise is not to produce “good” or “bad” ideas but just to exercise the creativity muscle. To become an idea machine. They don’t have to be business ideas. Or actionable ideas. It’s just exercise. It’s just to get stronger every day. I second guess every word and action. For example, last week I had one of the worst experiences ever with a local restaurant. I could have put them out of business by publicly sharing the events that occured like I had previously done, But I thought, who am I to have such a power? It's a remarkable feeling being able to inspire people across the world, let alone those walking the halls of my old high school! I was NOT the best student. I had a really difficult time learning... Test-taking? Forget it! I lived a pretty mediocre life as a C-student. I didn't get into an impressive college. I didn't score a single scholarship. And I worked my tail off throughout school to afford it all. But my high school teachers saw potential in every single student, regardless of test scores. Finding my fit in the world as a voice for a topic highly suppressed by social stigmas changed everything. I finally found my passion. Fueled by environmental triggers like unconscious bias and a broken application system, I am determined to change the world! I hope Amazon does take over healthcare... personally, I like on-time delivery and friendly customer service and being asked whether I was satisfied with the service I received. And sure, I know (I know!), healthcare is not like package delivery. But let's face it-many aspects of care delivery is about delivering the correct good or service to the right person/patient, at the right time. It is also about caring and doing the right thing. And while individual healthcare providers do the right thing all the time, the collective effort of the health care enterprise routinely fails to deliver the right service at the right time to the right person in a customer-service orientation . So Hats Off to Amazon and any other "big dog" who wants to completely re-do a broken industry .
