Do you procrastinate or get sidetracked by the various pings and dings of social media? Distraction can take many forms, but there are ways to beat it. I recently had a chance to sit down with Jason Marc Campbell on the Superhumans at Work show by Mindvalley . On this episode, we discuss: - The “10-minute rule” and how it can save you from procrastination - How to deal with the “Do you have a minute?” colleague - Other concepts in my new book, Indistractable Check out the full episode at the link in the comments below! Distraction did not start with Instagram, YouTube, or any other social media… Distractions are clearly a huge problem today. I can’t recall speaking with anyone who has told me that distraction is NOT a problem in their life. Here’s the good news… it’s not a new problem! Distraction’s presence can be found throughout human history. As far back as 2500 years ago, Aristotle and Socrates discussed the nature of “Akrasia,” the state of mind in which someone acts against their better judgement through weakness of will. Being distracted is part of the human struggle. Watch below and share your thoughts! #Indistractable #HumanBehavior #HumanHistory #Akrasia …see more

It's okay to do things differently if that works better for you. Here's a lesson from some hard-boiled eggs... ⤵ The other day I issued a call for help on Facebook, asking my friends how they master the art of HARD BOILED EGGS 🥚 With over 58 responses, only FIVE responses were the same! That means there were 53 different ways people explained how to make hard-boiled eggs. 🤯 I seem to always mess up the variables of... ❓ Is this enough of a ROLLING BOIL? ❓ Do I put my eggs in hot OR cold water first? ❓ Are these eggs even GOOD anymore?! I ended up following Jackie Hermes and Darcy Pinasco 's advice and invested in a cute little $15 egg cooker to do the job for me... So here's the thing: 👉 DO what works best for you... And if you're not cool with the results, outsource it 🙂 What tasks do you outsource to the pros? Aside from my hard-boiled egg making, I also rely on the experts for mindfulness coaching, organization/admin details, and an agent to book me speaking engagements! I'm also currently looking for a health coach. Know of anyone to set me up with workouts and diet plans? Let me know! #outsource #hiring #chantelshares …see more

Here are a few tips to help you crush your goals, even when you don’t feel like it: Think micro not macro 🔬 Progress isn’t derived from a single bold, sweeping gesture; it’s made small one step at a time. Redefine success🌟 Living and working in this new normal post-coronavirus world means finding new ways of defining and measuring success. Track your progress ✅ Enlist the help of an accountability partner, with whom you have regularly scheduled check-ins to report on your progress. Celebrate the small wins 🏆 Keep track of the small wins by recording them in a journal or electronic file. The next time you’re feeling a bit defeated, refer back to your notes to give you a much-needed boost of motivation and encouragement. Focus on making one decision 🎯 Use your awareness to focus on making one decision right now that will move you closer to your goal. Believe that you can 🧠 Those who tend to achieve, believe that they can, despite setbacks or failures. Think slow and steady, not instantaneous 🐢 As the old adage goes, slow and steady wins the race. Instead of chasing instant success, focus your efforts on the long game, taking action every day to move closer to your goals. #goals #career #progress …see more

80% of people don’t enjoy their work. Are you one of them? It’s time to reignite your passion and identify work that speaks to your soul. In Scott Dinsmore’s TedTalk, How to Find Work You Love, he outlines a three-part passion framework. Your first step is becoming a self-expert and understanding yourself, because if you don't know what you're looking for, you're never going to find it. To understand yourself, you identify your strengths, explore your decision-making hierarchy and your experiences. Your life is waiting! …see more
We are human beings – not human doings. And as much as we can measure what we ‘do’, we cannot appropriately measure the intangible characteristics of being human – our passions, our calling, our intuition, that quiet yet powerful voice of our hearts.

Every time I go to my JUNK email inbox I'm staggered that seemingly every company I've blocked sends. 1) A near daily email - as if anyone cares that much. 2) 1000 emails to me, for 3 years, and after never seeing it even opened, just carries on for years to come. Maybe this will be the one? I'm sure the incremental cost of each email is effectively zero on a spreadsheet, but the actual cost is far more. Use a bit of thought. …see more
