I don't want to have my privacy encroached.......I just want free email, and free wifi, and free news, and to share images for free, and to have better search, and to get suggestions that help me and to be able to see live traffic in Google maps, and to get an Uber fast and to walk out of a store without stopping like in Amazon Go. The future of privacy is about trust, transparency and value exchange.
Do you think about what you consume? I am not talking about food. I am talking about all your intellectual and digital consumption habits…the books you read, the shows you watch, the instagram accounts you follow. Here’s why - Your output is only ever going to be as good as your input. I am downright snobbish about how I spend my time and what I consume. I don't mindlessly scroll through social media feeds. (I don’t even have Facebook downloaded on my phone - shhh). Your mental input will determine the quality of your life. And THAT is how you stay on track with your goals, aspirations, and hopes for life. What’s something you consume daily that you could trade for a better substitute? P.S. - Pre-COVID, I loved exploring new cities after my keynote. Great way to get fresh input. This was taken in London. If you want to process more on this subject, I was interviewed about what I’ve learned as an entrepreneur and I shared my strategies for both personal and professional success. When we don’t make time for our values, we run into trouble. We unintentionally spend too much time in one area of our life at the expense of others. If we get busy with work, we might compromise living out our values with our family. If we run ourselves ragged caring for our kids, we might neglect our bodies, minds, and friendships. In order to live with purpose, we can’t afford to neglect our values. #Indistractable #Value #Health #Purpose …see more
In deciding on my #TopNine2020 , the pictures I chose encapsulate some of the key lessons I learnt this year . 1. Work / Life balance is a key part of being happy. Understand your priorities, make harder calls and focus on fewer things that make a real difference to you and those around you. 2. Culture is key to your organizational success - embrace purpose, collaboration and engagement as central components to assist your team and business in dealing with challenges 3. It’s not meant to be easy. When we reflect back on this time in our lives and careers, did we put in the extra effort to organize ourselves for success now and in future. Tough times require tough choices and not everyone will be happy with your choices - that’s okay. 4. How you think about trust has forever changed. Work from home has really challenged how we lead teams and how execute our work. We had to trust others more this year - consequently there is now an opportunity to reimagine how work happens by considering what worked this year on a permanent basis. 5. Vulnerability can be a strength. Surrounding yourself with a great team can help you deliver success. Not knowing is okay when you leverage the opportunity to partner and learn from those around you to achieve success. #business #innovation #2020 …see more

In a world where external demands and a cacophony of noise bombard us, taking the time to turn inward and think deeply may be the ultimate luxury—and the best way to figure out what’s next in your #career . Here’s how: Be intentional with your time Treat reflection as essential to your #careerdevelopment by scheduling time to think. Slow down & stop multitasking It’s impossible to think deeply and carefully about your future while you’re multitasking. Slow down to find clarity among your chaos. Eliminate distractions Up your odds for reflection success by turning off notifications, silencing your phone, and closing down tabs. Get up & out(side) Research says walks in nature enhance brain function, reduce stress, keep you energized, and improve creativity, which enables better reflection. Allow your mind to wander During reflection, try not to limit yourself to predetermined topics, or impose any rigid standards. Pay attention to what bubbles up Use your self-awareness to pay attention to how you’re feeling, your reactions, and any new ideas that arise during reflection. Record & review your thoughts so you can take action Until you capture your thoughts and goals, you’ll never be able to devise a plan of action to achieve them. #leadership …see more
The FDA ’s new A.I. action plan just got published. Here are the main points: 1. Tailored Regulatory Framework My take: As the draft guidance about this with details will come out this year, I hope adaptive algorithms will be covered. 2. Good Machine Learning Practice My take: The FDA wants to harmonize such practices across a range of international organizations. I'm not sure it’s possible, since their detailed plan is still not ready. 3. Patient-Centered Approach My take: I would’ve expected the digital health arm of the FDA to appoint a patient engagement advisory board, as promoting a patient centric approach without actively involving patients sounds like a risky business. 4. Regulatory Science Methods Related to Algorithm Bias & Robustness My take: This is why we expected that the FDA would take over our open access database of A.I.-based medical devices that we published in Nature Publishing Group's npj Digital Medicine paper. However, they confirmed to me that they won’t. 5. Real-World Performance My take: The FDA should promote the importance of prospective studies when it comes to analyzing algorithms' performance in medical tasks. …see more
