My thoughts on the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer and the need for a continuous push for innovation: https://virg.in/5hP
I met a girl in an elevator and asked her out on a date. This was between marriages. The first thing she asked me on our date was, “How much are you worth?” I had made and lost millions but nobody knew at that time what I had. I lied. I said, “a million dollars”. But I was worth less. “Not good enough,” she said. Still, we dated for awhile but then it ended. Like most things, it ended horribly. I had made and lost so many times at that point that I had to ask myself: “Why can’t I keep the money?” …see more
Insightful, moving words from Van Jones on hopefulness and how to work effectively with people you don’t always agree with
“I realized that although we’re probably going to get the voting bill, we still don’t have a lot of other things.” A great account from 1965 about Martin Luther King Jr. and the historic march from Selma to Montgomery: https://lnkd.in/dcQT4Wd #ReadByRichard …see more
It took me quite a long time to develop my voice, now that I have it, I am not going to be silent" - Madeleine Albright. I can relate to this. In the early days of my #career , I was plagued with doubts or shyness to speak up for fear that others might not listen to me. In fact, it is surprising how many of us are afflicted with this. Over time I trained myself to speak and make my #voice heard. If you are one of those people who feel you are marginalized, don't be afraid to #speak up, it doesn't matter if you are heard or not, eventually, your voice will cut through the cacophony and you will be heard …see more

I'm looking for speakers again 🎤. But this time I want to help out those looking to take that first step into public speaking. My TEDx is this upcoming April. Last year I had set a goal for myself to do 2 speaking engagements and I ended up doing 15. And somewhere along the lines I started enjoying it. I don't think anyone said it better than Curt Mercadante, "If you want to be a speaker than start speaking." It's that simple. Put yourself out there and don't be afraid to ask. There are so many opportunities out there and events are always looking for speakers. So here's what I have: if you're interested in getting into speaking send me a message (or comment below) what you want to speak about and what makes you unique. I will try to get back to all of you if I can. My company has some events coming up and I want to help as many people as I can take that first step. #justQ 🖤 …see more
One reason why despite raising a lot of capital, some companies don’t make it is accelerating growth without identifying gaps in Product-Market Fit. 1. Meet customers in person - Ask the right questions to get the right answers. A most common mistake is to be swayed to believe that the customer is endorsing the answers that we want to hear. 2. Identifying what needs change - Should you change the product? Or should you change the target market? Change the price point? Or the customer experience? 3. Don’t take shortcuts to validate Product-Market-Fit. It is an iterative process. #FoundersDilemma …see more

It is such a privilege to hear JRD. He was well-liked and respected. I remember clearly when I read 'Beyond the Last Blue Mountain'. I highly recommend reading it. In fact, I want to go back and re-read it. His magnanimity, humanness and humbleness are an #inspiration and resonate deeply with me. Interesting insights he offers on leadership: 1. A true leader is someone whose #leadership is respected by his team. 2. A true leader takes decisions by consensus, whenever possible. 3. S/he humanly looks at things. #Entrepreneurship Video Credits: Astaabrata India Foundation …see more
I come from a school of thought that too much #funding too early is not an advantage. Bootstrapping the #business or a lean startup sets the right culture and focuses on the right priorities. • Create the minimal viable product. #Design the product with minimal features. • Gather early feedback to rapidly iterate and further build the product. • Have a firm handle on your business expenses. Keep track of everything. • There are a gazillion social media apps available online. Be hands-on in building an authentic brand. • Outsource whatever is not your core competency or core to your business. • Create a team that is mission-focused with diverse skill sets. • Take rest. Work harder. Be self-disciplined to run this marathon. • Last but not least, avoid shortcuts, for that compromises your promises and values. #LeanStartups …see more
Most companies give 3-5 paid days off after a loss of a loved one.... My brother passed 4 months ago – I am my own boss & have a team of 7 not including myself... and it was hard going back to work. It was hard getting back in the swing of things. I can't imagine going through that as someone without the privilege that I had. I can't imagine not being able to explore my emotions and the changes that I've gone through. I've spent a lot of the past 3 years talking. Which I'm fine with, so long as it's helping people. I want to spend more time creating and exploring anything and everything that interests me. And right now the correlation between my recent success & grief is fascinating to me. So, I'm creating a short film around grief and the way that it changes people. If you want to be a part of it, shoot me a message. I start filming next week. I have mad love for all of you. #justQ 🖖🏾🖤 #business #entrepreneurship …see more

My girlfriend came to me to an Esports tournament. That’s love 😂🙌🏽. In all seriousness though — I’m beyond thankful for Christina Haidemenos . I remember the days of working out of my 500 square foot home office. Few people supported me and the ideas I had. And as content creators we like to romanticize those days... when we worked despite no one believing in us. But, these days are just as important. When people do support you. Because building a business isn’t easy. Building a brand isn’t easy. And the people that have your back are building it with you. Remember that. And don’t forget to tell them that you appreciate them. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone — spread the love today. #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 #business #entrepreneurship …see more
