Awesome letter from a 10-year-old budding CEO to Qantas CEO. Young entrepreneurs are sharp, curious, raw. They don't limit themselves with thoughts of failure. They want the sky. And the sky is what they can have with encouragement and mentoring from seasoned leaders. Take Ritesh for example. When he started out, he was only 16. And today he has built India's largest branded hospitality company. As the latest Nike ad says, Dream crazier because it is only crazy until you do it! …see more

Yaashwin Sarawanan, 15 years old, who calls himself as human calculator wants to convince everyone that math is actually #fun and an easy thing to do. I loved #math as a student and in fact, that is what led me to consider becoming an engineer. Sometimes students get intimidated by math and they miss out on a key subject that is actually important to have proficiency in regardless of what career you choose. It is about developing analytical and problems solving skills. We should make math more fun and less intimidating. In fact, I found that Kalaari Capital all my colleagues enjoy math problem solving so we often post fun problems for the team to solve in our group channel. #WeekendMusings Video Credits- Asia's Got Talent …see more

Please can we stop using the word experience. It’s not a listening experience, it’s a speaker. It wasn’t a retail experience, it was a nice shop. It’s not a burger experience, it’s a just a great burger. It’s not a payment experience, it’s a lack of experience while you buy something. And while grumpy, please note it’s not reimagining. You’ve made a lounge with new carpets, made trousers with a better zip, a store with nicer lighting, a car with a bigger dashboard, some shampoo with nicer packaging . This is not reimagination , it’s a refurb or a design tweak. Reimagination would be to go to zero and rebuild a new solution around destroyed assumptions and evolved possibilities , not putting an iPad in your store. …see more

#Leadership training has never included how to handle a once in a generation pandemic. #Covid19 has tested every leader, most #startups and more so offline-heavy businesses have struggled with a sudden drop in revenues and survival challenges. I have now known Mukesh Bansal & Ankit N. for a long time. I am on their board at CureFit and see them both as good leaders & fine human beings. I am glad to see them both rise to the challenges of our times with thoughtfulness and heart, balancing the many needs and constraints to keep their business afloat in these difficult times. I wish the entire CureFit family and indeed all startups the best in coming out of this #crisis . …see more

It’s been rough jumping back into business/creating since my little brother passed away. I’ve been in this weird mode of rediscovering myself again. I woke up at 2am two weeks ago to record an episode of my new podcast. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Something I want to create that would make my little brother proud. I miss him. Immensely. It’s been over a month since he passed and it still doesn’t feel real. The last time I saw him we played video games for 3 days straight. We were going to start a team together one day. He was going to work for me next year. A week back I got so caught up in my own thoughts. 💢“Everyone has a podcast now.” Hell, I already have one with my company. 💢“I don’t know enough about the space.” 💢“I’m starting from scratch.” 💢And so on. Then someone reminded me why I’m doing this. 1). To learn. 2). To have fun. 3). To do something my little brother would have been proud of. That “why” is everything. So here I am, flipping an aggressive middle finger to doubt and doing what I want to do. Humans that Game was just approved on iTunes (it’s also on Spotify & more). A review and rating would mean the world 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽. https://lnkd.in/dkDiqmy #justQ #entrepreneurship #esports …see more

The Role of a Board is to safeguard the best interests of the company and its stakeholders. The board is there to question, challenge, and protect the presented views. Its responsibility is to do what it takes to align the company towards achieving its own aggressive goals. Simply put, the board helps to see the forest through the trees. But what does an early stage startup Board Meeting entail? Here is an infographic which encapsulates an ideal board meeting of an early stage start-up. …see more

What an incredible escape from a terrible fall! It made me think about why some people pursue risky ventures with a #passion . #Entrepreneurship too is a daring and risky adventure. #Startups face near-death experiences and the ability to survive the nasty falls and get back on the driver's seat is an important mindset that entrepreneurs need to own. Even as the 1st generation of startups graduate to bigger playing fields of IPOs and M&As, it’s the scale of the explosion of startups, especially from Tier 2 cities, that’s caught the attention of Venture Capital firms, including ours. And as long as the support infrastructure - sound policies and technology - keeps improving and exists to the aid of the startup ecosystem, this phenomenon is unlikely to lose steam anytime soon. …see more

Made pasta today, got me thinking "who was the first human to ever eat an egg?" Can you imagine how they felt.... and how others around them felt? It's these weirdo's we need to nurture. Everything good that ever happens comes from someone not caring about how they may be made to feel by the conformists around them.

I had a lot of daydreams as a kid. I wanted to be a writer. I wanted to interview people. I wanted to call up my heroes and talk to them. I also wanted to be an astronaut. Be president. Be a football player. And be an eccentric billionaire who peed in jars and had super long fingernails. Some daydreams come true and some don’t. But I still have lots of daydreams. I want to write a novel. I want to continue calling my heroes and interview them. I want to make people laugh. I want to help a lot of people. I want to write every day. These things excite me. I write down my daydreams all of the time. Then I write down my 10 ideas of the day. “10 ways I can be an astronaut”. “10 ways I can help Amazon”. Etc. Combine your daydreams. “10 ways I can write about astronauts”.” Or…”ten ways I can make money writing about games I like to play.” Here’s how to start: http://bit.ly/2wI7wbT …see more
