I feel like there is a weird modern thing where any vitally important email, one that carries meaning or personal emotion deserves a thoughtful reply, is left for a few hours....then a day or more......... Then given the delay, it feels it requires an even better reply to compensate..... and you can't do that now....... and this circle continues until a month later you don't dare reply given how rude it looks. We need a long German word for this. What if the most important things you want to say never get said. …see more

[How do I get rid of #NegativeThinking?] ---- This is going to be simple, but it works. And if I don’t do this every day: I sink. I despair. I suffocate on my own negativity. Our brains like to be negative. It actually relieves stress. If something bad happens to you, your stress hormones spike. One way to reduce the stress in the body, believe it or not, is to think negative. This is me: “I lost a lot of money in a business. But it was my partner’s fault!” or…”I’m not able to have good relationships!” Etc. Negativity is an excuse. And so it relieves the stress and, surprisingly, makes you feel better. But positive is better. Positive is a muscle, a habit, something to exercise and practice. I’m negative a lot. I wake up negative. Why me? Why them? Why did this happen? Why why why. So I have to stop myself. I have to say, “5x5 rule” and then I have to act on it. I remind myself of this at least three times a day. …see more

It's not about posting a black box on your social media feeds. It's not about showing people that you're not racist. Or showing people that you support. That isn't good enough. It's about what the box signifies. Listen. Actually listen. Don't get mad because someone black/brown calls you out. Listen. Don't get mad because you don't understand. Listen. Don't get mad because you're not posting content. Listen. Don't get defensive when you feel uncomfortable. Listen. Because that's been the black experience for a long ass time. Silence will teach you a lot. Being uncomfortable will teach you a lot. Listen. #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 #blacklivesmatter …see more

Interesting thoughts from Jules Kortenhorst, CEO of the Rocky Mountain Institute on how we can finance freedom from fossil fuels:
Everytime we write, prepare and create a presentation we spend far far too long thinking about what we want to say, and far far too little time thinking about what the audience wants and how best to deliver that. It's always about them not you.
Doubt can poison #success , whereas #belief can open up the universe. Self-belief, I have always believed, is the first step in the journey of #entrepreneurship .
#psychedelics as #medicines to fight the #mentalhealthcrisis are attracting billions in investment capital but #biotechnologies have always been very risky investments. To mitigate risk I index by investing in multiple companies with multiple molecules and #FDA trials. Here is my strategy to try and get the best outcome. Guy Adami JR Rahn #Context365 …see more
Someone should coin "the law of 2020". It means if you post something positive these days, people try hard to find the negative. If you dare try and laugh, people will scald you. If you share good news, people will point to privilege or bad news to counteract it. Any wonderful data point is met with " yeah but what about XXXX" If you point out the huge signs of progress in the world, people will point out your ignorance. It's driven by the media, and their accidental ( and unacknowledged addiction to cheap clicks, which play to misery and fears) Its distorted our sense of the world, it's genuinely blinded the media to any positivity and algorithms neutralize the ability of good or reassuring news to spread. It's like a giant self righteous woke festival of misery, a competition to be more anxious, more pious. There is zero evidence life should be lived in a serious manner. We are all going to die. We can fight for change and justice and for better, and maybe without being so god dam miserable and judgmental and serious. It's not some giant competition to self flagellate with self imposed misery, unless I missed the "this is life in 2020" email. …see more
You were born for more... and if you still don't believe that, just look around. This world is absolutely overflowing with magic. With autumn leaves turning into firey shades of yellow, orange and red, the world we live in is magnificent! This weekend we said farewell to Grandma Soumis while the angels painted the forest in a rainbow of fire overnight. We were reminded of the legacy our family leaves behind and the gift of life we were handed. A gift of endless opportunity and the ability to do or be anything we set our hearts on... So... When you feel small, ❤ remember how special your story is. 🧡 embrace your struggles and adversity. 🤎 learn to love each twist and turn. You were built for more, and better yet, you DESERVE more... So go get it! And don't forget to enjoy the colorful ride along the way 😉 #success #growth #chantelshares …see more

Can we stop this 2016 is awful narrative. We're so determined to see patterns and outsource blame we've created a destructive story. The real horror in the world isn't the death of a celebrity but the divided nature of our times and polarization of a world struggling to cope with change. This is serious so let's not blame it on an arbitrary calendar year. Let's seek to listen to people, understand their fears and put in place measures to make the world better. Saying 2016 sucked removes our role in progress. …see more
